1. Overview
Stamps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Stamps mobile application, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We may collect: (a) account information you provide, such as display name, username, email, and optional bio; (b) location data when you grant permission while using the app, used to verify stamps and show nearby places; (c) stamp activity, including places visited, stamps collected, points, and challenge progress; (d) device and usage data, such as app version and general interaction logs; and (e) communications you send to support.
3. Location data
Location is core to stamping. We use your device’s GPS only while you are using location-dependent features in the app (“While Using the App”). We do not collect location in the background. You can revoke location access in your device settings at any time.
4. How we use information
We use your information to operate and improve the app; verify proximity when you claim a stamp; personalize your passport and profile; respond to support requests; prevent fraud and abuse (including location spoofing); and comply with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who help us host or support the app (under confidentiality obligations), and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety. Place photos may be served from third parties such as Unsplash under their own policies.
6. Photos & third-party content
Images shown in the app may be loaded from third-party CDNs (for example, Unsplash). Those providers may receive technical data such as your IP address when images load. Photographer attribution is displayed where required by license.
7. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete your account in the app, which removes your profile and associated progress, subject to legal retention requirements.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You can update profile fields in Edit Profile, adjust location permissions on your device, and delete your account from Profile settings. Contact us to exercise other rights.
10. Children
Stamps is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International users
If you access the app from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where we or our providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date.
